Where 2 Go In Orange County

3-Thirty-3 Restaurant

August 6th, 2007

Newport Beach has many selections to choose from, but if your one of those people that likes the finer things in life for the right price you’ll really like 3-Thirty-3 in Newport Beach. Their motto is “Small Plates, Big Taste”, and we would say that’s just about right. It seems as though they are more interested in being a martini bar then they are a gourmet kitchen, which in our book is just fine. Their menu is designed to be “grazed” upon, which makes it perfect for an after work meeting place or a lazy afternoon cocktail. 3-Thirty-3 caters to the young professional crowd and really builds a sense of comfort and community. If it’s conversation you seek, then you’ve come to the right spot. Read the rest of this entry »

Sports Nutrition and Juice Bar

February 3rd, 2007

Looking for a healthy smoothie and a place to pick up your entire nutritional supplement needs? Then we have the place for you. If you’re in the Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area, then you’re in luck. On 17th street there is a little Juice Bar with the best after workout smoothies around, or any time smoothies for that matter. I’ve had a few of them and trust me; they really are better than some of the big chain smoothie makers.
Sports Nutrition Superstore has two parts to it. The one side has everything you might want in terms of supplements, you know the protein powders, energy bars, stuff like that. It’s like a GNC but from what I can tell it much cheaper and with all the same brands. Plus the people that work there actually know what they’re talking about. The other side of the place is a juice bar (Octane Bar) and clothing, complete with dressing rooms. While my drink was being made I had to check out some of the fight gear that was in there. They carry brands such as Tap Out, Booya and bunch of other clothing lines you might see in an MMA octagon. The clothes range from shirts and pants, to hats and fighting gloves. They pack a serious amount of stuff in a small little place.
So if you’re looking for an alternative to Jamba Juice and you need to pick up some dietary supplements, then Sports Nutrition Superstore is your place.

Where to find the Juice:
Sports Nutrition Superstore
222 East 17th Street
